SAFTAs: Public voting opens for Best TV Presenter

! More Twilight Zone phenomena from the SAFTAs... turns out there aren't six categories in the Best Presenter section but only one. Which wasn't communicated when the nominees were announced last week.

As I mentioned here when I complained about too many categories, nominees were revealed in six Best Presenter categories. Each category was listed as a separate award in the official documentation from the SAFTAs:

... and now suddenly there's only one overall award for Best Presenter which combines all the nominees from the different categories which viewers can vote for. I've enquired for clarity and apparently the awards used the categories to select the nominees but they're only looking for one winner so I have no idea why each category was listed as an award.

To cut an irritating story short: there's only one Best Presenter award that combines everybody and there's an SMS line for viewers to vote.

Here's a recap of the nominees, with their vote number:

Lungile Radu - Big Brother Mzansi 1
Jessica Mtimkulu - Blue Couch 2
Bonang Matheba - Clash of the Choirs SA 3
Bujy Bikwa - Cula Sibone 4
Darren Green - Doctor’s Orders 5
Masechaba Lekalake - Eksê: Let's Talk with Masechaba Lekalake 6
Katlego Maboe - Expresso Morning Show - 7
Tshepo Maseko - Gospel Classics 8
Ntombi Ngcobo - Mzolo - Gumbagumba 9
Masechaba Lekalake - I Love South Africa 10
Katlego Mlambo - Kasi-Licious 11
Jeremy Maggs - Maggs on Media 12
Mooiloop (Ensemble) 13
Vusi Zion - Movers & Shakers 14
Thembi Seete - Nguwe Na? 15
Johan Stemmet - Noot vir Noot 16
Phat Joe - The Real Goboza 17
Siyabonga Ngwekazi - Turn up 18

Voting details:

You can vote by SMS'ing the number of your Chosen to 33100 (SMS's cost R1.50 each)

Who does your vote go to? Mine goes to Katlego Maboe for these three reasons:

1. He's managed to do the impossible: he's remained chirpy despite getting up at the crack of dawn for years.
2. I'm biased because I did Survivor Xtra with him.
3. He's the same in real life as he is on TV.
