On Carte Blanche this Sunday, 2008:

All Fall Down

This week saw the labour department address the recent spate of tragic accidents on construction sites countrywide. Carte Blanche sifts through the mess surrounding much of the building industry and speaks to arbitrators, engineers and distraught home-owners to try to pinpoint exactly where the problems lie.

Presenter: John Webb
Producer: Michael Duffet
Journalist: Quereshini Naidoo

Service Without A Smile

Ever taken your car for a service and found it had clocked 220km in an 80km zone? Or ploughed nose first into a wall when you believed it was safely at the garage? Or has a car dealer sent armed guards round to relieve you of your courtesy car in the dead of night? Carte Blanche investigates some less than joyful rides.

Presenter: Derek Watts
Producer: Kate Barry
Journalist: Wynand Grobler

Katinka & Simon

Meet Katinka Heyns and her son Simon Barnard, who have finally come to terms with the bi-polar disorder that almost destroyed their lives. In a gripping and tragic film they face the demons that at times made Simon so manic he thought he was a prophet, and at other times so depressed that he tried to hang himself. Carte Blanche speaks to mother and son.

Presenter: Bonita Gorrie-Nuttall
Producer: Kate Barry

JJ

At six months old, Jesse Clegg was touring with his famous father and backstage was his backyard. But 20 years on, he’s carving his own career - very different from the style developed by Johnny Clegg of Juluka fame. His single “Today” was released on radio this year. Carte Blanche jams with Johnny and Jesse.

Presenter: Bonita Gorrie-Nuttall
Producer: Carol Albertyn Christie

Carte Blanche is on M-Net on Sundays at 19h00.
