Season 5
This series, created by uber-author Michael Crichton, is set in the Emergency Room of a busy Chicago hospital. It follows the doctors and nurses through both their personal and professional lives and draws you in to their trials and tribulations.
Season 5 saw the introduction of a new medical student, Lucy Knight. Hers is a ever-ending battle with the job and Dr John Carter.
Dr Corday is in two minds about remaining in the US, especially after her father visits and tries to persuade her to return. She also finds herself back as an ER intern.
Dr Peter Benton suspects that his baby son might be deaf. He's also thrown when his ex decides to move away with the baby.
Dr Mark Greene begins working more and more with the Paramedics in an effort to improve their services. He also hears from NASA that they're considering him for their astronaut programme, years after he first applied.
Dr Doug Ross and Carol contemplate their future when she suspects that she might be pregnant. Ross is also offered another job in another city. His position in the ER is compromised when he faces disciplinary action for jeopardising a clinical trial.
Jeannie's medical condition worsens and she rethink her relationship with her husband.
