Season 2

Reno 911! is an American comedy television series created by Robert Ben Garant, Thomas Lennon and Kerri Kenney-Silver which is a mockumentary-style parody of law enforcement documentary shows, specifically Cops, with comic actors playing the police officers.

Most of the material is improvised, using a broad outline, and with minimal scripted material. The series spawned a film, Reno 911!: Miami, featuring the same cast.

The series aired in the USA on Comedy Central from 23 July, 2003 to 8 July, 2009. There are 88 half-hour episodes in six seasons.

Reno 911! aired in South Africa on DStv's Comedy Central channel from 26 January to 27 June, 2012. See "Seasons" below for seasonal broadcast dates and times.

Season 2 originally aired on Comedy Central from 21 February to 16 March, 2012. New episodes broadcast from Tuesdays to Fridays at 20h30. There are 16 episodes in the second season.

Synopsis

The lives of seven incompetent Reno sheriff's deputies are detailed in this Cops-style parody.

Among the colourful characters are Lt. Jim Dangle (Thomas Lennon), the short shorts-wearing, flamboyantly gay supervisor; Deputy James Garcia (Carlos Alazraqui), who makes police brutality an art form; and Deputy Trudy Wiegel (Kerri Kenney-Silver), the manic depressive, racist sociopath.

There's also Deputy Clementine Johnson (Wendi McLendon-Covey), the skanky former magician's assistant; and Deputy Travis Junior (series co-creator Robert Ben Garant), the redneck who is never seen without his kevlar vest and sunglasses.

Rounding out the cast are Deputy S. Jones (Cedric Yarbrough), the semi-competent ladies' man; and Deputy Raineesha Williams (Niecy Nash), the bootylicious black cop with an attitude.

These brave men and women of the Washoe County Sheriff's Department give you the 411 on the thin khaki line that keeps Reno, Nevada on the straight and narrow.

Led by Lieutenant Jim Dangle, the officers of Reno 911! attempt to keep the streets safe - mainly from themselves.
