Simon Helberg is an American actor best known for his starring role as Howard Wolowitz on the television sitcom The Big Bang Theory, since 2007.
He is also known for his role as Alex Dwyer in the drama series Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip, from 2006-2007.
His television credits include guest starring appearances in MadTV, Reno 911 and Joey.
His feature film credits include Van Wilder, Old School, Good Night, and Good Luck and For Your Consideration. In 2007 he appeared in the feature films Mama's Boy and Judd Apatow's Walk Hard.
Herberg attended NYU's Tisch School of the Arts where he trained at The Atlantic Theater Company. He is an accomplished pianist.
The son of actor Sandy Helberg and casting director Harriet Helberg, he was born and raised in Los Angeles, where he currently resides.
