Season 2

Bettina (Betty), everyone's favourite bestie, returns in a more quirky, funny, self-assured, and motivated way than ever.

uBettina Wethu is a dramedy that is an adaptation of the Columbian series Yo Soy Betty La Fea, a television drama successfully adapted for local audiences in 19 countries – including the US adaptation Ugly Betty.

Season 2 returns with a number of casting changes and new storylines.

The world currently has 16 Bettys and Mzansi and the rest of Africa is about to meet Betty number 17, played by Kamogelo Molatlhoe (replacing Farieda Metsileng, who played the role in the first season).

Another change sees Lunga Tshabalala taking over the role of Dingaan Jiyani from Zweli Dube, who played the role in Season 1.

Also joining the cast in Season 2 is Itumeleng Bokaba in the role of Zaza; and Hungani Ndlovu as Betty's new love interest Duma.

Nimrod Nkosi joins the cast as Dingaan's devious estranged dad and Abby Molz plays Nubia's new and always on receptionist, Sindi.

Season 2 is a period of personal change and professional repositioning.

Betty sets out determined to succeed in her new position as an account manager and establishes boundaries in her troubled relationship with Dingaan.

She gets past her transport issues but takes some minor leadership challenges, like assisting Wendell and the Nubia staff in acquiring a wellness area.

She hits a speed bump when the demands of her new position grow – like managing moral dilemmas and difficult clients - which even endanger her friendship with Zaza.

Kamogelo Molatlhoe replaces Farieda Metsileng as Betty, Lunga Shabalala replaces Zweli Dube as Dingaan and Itumeleng Bokaba replaces Lesego Tlhabi as Zaza.

Returning starring cast this season include Ayanda Bandla as Lakhe, Tsholo Mashishi as Linda, Brighton Ngoma as T-Bang, Michael Potter as Brandon, Elliot Makhubo as Israel, Motshabi Tyelele as Aunt Ethel, Mbasa Msongelo as Mpilo and Alex Sono as Reggie.

New starring cast include Hungani Ndlovu as Duma, Abby Molz as Sindi and Nimrod Nkosi as Dingaan's Dad.

Jason Willemse is promoted fromrecurring to starring cast this season for his role as Wendell.

uBettina Wethu is a Viu Original, co-produced by Viu South Africa and Known Associates Entertainment in association with SABC1, the Department of Trade Industry & Competition South Africa, Canal+ International and The National Empowerment Fund.
