About the Show

Ken Jou Laan (Know Your Lane) is a South African game show devised by Skhombisa Productions as a companion show to the SABC2 soapie 7de Laan, with the aim of finding the show's biggest fan.

The series premiered on SABC2 on Friday 13 June 2008, at 18h00. There are 13 half-hour episodes in the series.

Synopsis

Based on SABC2's soapie 7de Laan, Ken Jou Laan is a game show that seeks to find the show's biggest fan.

Hosted by 7de Laan's Waldemar Schultz (who plays Jan-Hendrik) the series features university hostels, old age homes, sports clubs, book clubs and other organisations playing different games in teams of three.

Two teams from each organisation compete against each other in each episode to test their 7de Laan knowledge.

Teams also get a mystery team leader in the form of one of the 7de Laan stars.

Episodes

Episode 1 (13 June)

In this first episode teachers from Randburg compete against teachers from Sasolburg. Guest artists in this episode are on-screen husband and wife team Vanessa and Xander, who battle it out to see who rules the roost.

Episode 2 (20 June)

Two families compete against each other. Will the younger or older generation triumph? 7de Laan’s Ilse Roos and Jana Strydom assist the teams.

Episode 3 (27 June)

A team of work colleagues compete against an all-male team of professionals. The 7de Laan stars have a battle of the sexes while they assist the teams. Christi Panagiotopoulos and Francois Lensley lead the teams.

Episode 4 (4 July)

Teams from two Universities compete against each other. They are assisted by Hendrik Cronje and Amalia Uys.

Episode 5 (11 July)

Two estate agencies compete. Marko returns to battle his wits and restore his male ego and Alyce plays to show her talents are not just musical.

Episode 6 (18 July)

Matric pupils from two rival schools compete, assisted by Hillside Time's perfect PA and the Beauty Fashion Lifestyle and Social Editor.

Episode 7 (25 July)

Two teams from various of old age homes are paired with Hillsides favourite geriatrics.

Episode 8 (1 August)

Two groups of friends are teamed with two competitive 7de Laan hunks.

Episode 9 (8 August)

Staff from two hospitals are given the affable Meintjies brothers in the contest to determine 7de Laan's biggest fan.

Episode 10 (15 August)

The event co-ordinators from Bruynwaves help out a home industry team and a group of friends.

Episode 11 (22 August)

The first of the semi finals: two winning teams so far are assisted by the fashion fundis from Hillside's favourite boutique.

Episode 12 (29 August)

In the second semi-final, another two winning teams are assisted by Oppiekoffie's favourite waiters.

Episode 13 (5 September)

The rival journalists from Hillside Times battle it out with the finalists to crown 7de Laan's biggest fans.
