About the Show

Wayward Pines is an American mystery thriller television series based on the novel Pines by Blake Crouch which follows a U.S. Secret Service agent investigating the disappearance of two federal agents in a mysterious, small Idaho town.

Imagine the perfect American town, beautiful homes, manicured lawns, children playing safely in the streets... Now imagine never being able to leave. You have no communication with the outside world. You think you're going insane. You must be in Wayward Pines.

Based on Blake Crouch's international series of books and brought to life by M. Night Shyamalan, Wayward Pines is a psychological thriller evocative of the classic series Twin Peaks.

Season 1

Secret Service Agent Ethan Burke (Matt Dillon) drives to the bucolic town of Wayward Pines, Idaho, searching for two missing federal agents. One of the best Secret Service agents in the Seattle office, he's the man who knew missing agent Kate Hewson (Carla Gugino) better than anyone. They were more than partners; their relationship nearly destroyed Ethan's marriage.

Everything changes when a truck slams into his car... and he wakes up in the Wayward Pines Hospital, with the intense and unpredictable Nurse Pam (Melissa Leo) at his bedside. It soon appears that Pam is more interested in harming than healing. She and Ethan grow into deadly rivals and her role in the town proves much deeper than anyone realises.

After arriving in Wayward Pines, Theresa and Ethan enroll their teenage son, Ben (Charlie Tahan), in the town's only school, where his teacher, Megan Fisher (guest star Hope Davis), provides key information about the town's origins.

But Ethan's continuing investigation only turns up more and more questions, and each one leads him to the most important question of all: What's wrong with Wayward Pines?

Season 2

Season 2 stars Jason Patric (Rush, Narc), two-time Academy Award nominee Djimon Hounsou (Blood Diamond, In America) and Emmy Award and Golden Globe nominee Hope Davis (American Crime, The Newsroom).

The season picks up after the shocking events of the Season 1 finale, with the residents of Wayward Pines battling against the iron-fisted rule of the First Generation.

Dr. Theo Yedlin (Patric) - a new resident of Wayward Pines - awakens from suspended animation and finds himself in the middle of this rebellion, as he tries to understand what Wayward Pines really is and help preserve the endangered human race.

CJ Mitchum (Hounsou), an original resident of Wayward Pines and a historian for the town with extensive knowledge of its complex origins, is the one person who can provide a unique bridge between the current world of Wayward Pines and the previous world that humans inhabited.

Megan Fisher (Davis), is in charge of the scientific research being conducted on the Abbies, and remains deeply involved in the development of the hearts and minds of the future of humanity - Wayward Pines' First Generation.

Wayward Pines is a production of FX Productions. The series was developed for television by Chad Hodge (The Playboy Club, Runaway) and executive-produced by Donald De Line (Green Lantern, The Italian Job), Ashwin Rajan (After Earth, Devil), Hodge and Shyamalan. Mark Friedman (Believe, The Forgotten) also serves as executive producer and showrunner.

Hodge wrote and Shyamalan directed the premiere episode.
