! Cool news for Compact viewers... FOX will be available on DStv's Compact bouquet from 1 June 2016.

What makes the news so cool is that it's one of the best channels available on the Premium bouquet so it's a valuable addition to Compact.

These are our five reasons why you should be excited about it:

1. It has some of the best and most popular shows in the world. Shows that have made a dramatic impact on the TV landscape such as The Walking Dead and Empire.

Empire star Taraji P. Henson will be visiting South Africa to mark the launch on Compact. There's also going to be a marathon screening of Season 2 at weekends through June so you can catch-up on the series before the Season 3 premiere in September.

2. The channel conveys the feeling that you're futuristically in touch with global trends and that you're watching as part of a universal audience because you very often are. Many of the channel's shows air the day after their US broadcast.

3. It's in HD.

4. It has a great selection of fresh, innovative series. Some examples include:

- The new horror series Outcast by Robert Kirkman, creator of The Walking Dead. It premieres on 6 June at 21h50.
- The mystery thriller Wayward Pines, starring Matt Dillon. Season 2 starts on 6 June too, at 21h00.

Other titles in their line-up include comedy-horror series Scream Queens, the sitcom Fresh Off The Boat and the TV sequel to the movie Minority Report.

5. The channel aired The People v. OJ Simpson earlier this year, which wins our award for The Best Show of 2016. Believe us when we tell you that it's excellent, excellent, excellent. We have no doubt that they'll air it again - we'll keep you posted when they do.

There's more value in this channel than VUZU x 2 + Mzansi Magic combined.

So it turns Taraji P. Henson won't be visiting Mzansi alone for the channel launch - her co-star Terrence Howard (Lucious Lyon) will be joining her.
