Bio

Marks Maponyane is a former South African soccer player who played for Bafana Bafana from 1992-1995.

He played for club soccer giants Kaiser Chiefs from 1981-1991, captaining the side from 1985-1988. He later played for Dynamos, Orlando Pirates and Wits University.

In 1983 he won the South African "Footballer of the Year" award and the "South African Sport Hero of the Year" award. In 1987 and 1994 he was again crowned "South African Footballer of the Year", making him the only South African to be crowned with this title more than once.

He has been a motivational speaker since 1990 and since 1990 has presented and commentated numerous sports shows and matches.
