Chyler Leigh is an American actress best known for her starring role as Dr. Lexie Grey in the medical comedy-drama television series Grey's Anatomy.
Born in Charlotte, North Carolina, and raised in Virginia Beach and Miami Beach, Leigh began her career in front of the camera at age 12, modeling for magazines and catalogues.This led to national commercials for Coca-Cola and Wendy's, among others.
By age 16, she had completed several pilots and after seeing her prformance on Saving Grace's Aaron Spelling hired her as a regular in the TV series Safe Harbor.
She also guest starred on 7th Heaven in a three-story arc wherein her character, Frankie, a young, inept mother, adversely influences the family.
In December 2001, Leigh made her film debut in the spoof Not Another Teen Movie. In January 2002 she landed a series role on the comedy That '80s Show. Subsequently, she was cast in David E. Kelley's Girls Club and later in The Practice as Claire Wyatt for the 2002-2003 season.
In 2004, Leigh appeared in the comedy pilot Lucky Us, in the starring role of the freewheeling conservative young architect Lucy Reed. She later made a guest appearance as Kate Spangler, a feisty young advertising executive, in the drama North Shore.
In 2005 she played naive, quirky photographer Carla Leigh in the series Reunion.
