Bio
Kwenzo Ngcobo is a South African actor best known for his role as Qhawe in the Showmax telenovela The Wife.
Originally recurring (since the series premiere on 11 November, 2021), he was promoted to starring cast for the third and final season in 2022.
Born and raised in Izingolweni, KwaZulu-Natal, he studied for a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Drama at the Durban University of Technology, graduating in 2013.
Performing mainly in theatre in the early part of his career, Kwenzo made his television acting debut in the recurring role of Themba on the e.tv soapie Imbewu, first appearing in Season 2, Episode 216 (which aired on 10 February, 2020).
He would go on to recur in the third season as well, in 2021.
Another recurring role followed, this time as Hlophe in the SABC1 soapie Uzalo, first credited in an episode which aired on 2 April, 2021 (Season 7, Episode 20).
A three-season run on The Wife ensued, in which he (and Gaisang K Noge) were the headline stars of Season 3.
In 2024 he starred in the Netflix thriller series Soon Comes Night as Alex Shabane, a former freedom fighter who longs for adrenaline and adoration and tries to get it by any means necessary.
The series debuted worldwide on 19 January, 2024.
