Altus Theart is a South African actor, singer and voice artist best known for his television roles as Henk Landman in Kruispad and as Fafa Beltrame in Gegroud Met Rugby, and for his starring role as Werner "Killer" Botha in the comedy film trilogy Bakgat.

He also had a starring role in the kykNET period drama series Donkerland, in 2013.

Theart received his N dip Diploma in Drama in 2006 from the Tshwane University of Technology where he specialised in theatre, singing and directing.

During his studies he starred in numerous stage productions which included A Midsummer Night's Dream (Puck), The Crucible (Rev. John Hale) and the KKNK production of Skimmespel. Altus also starred in the M-Net Edit short films Bloedrooi and Spaarwiel as well as a couple of music videos showing on MK89.

After studying, Altus was part of the Grease cast at the Barnyard theatre where he played the character of Sonny. He played the character Werner "Killer" Botha in the popular teen comedy Bakgat and the sequels Bakgat 2 and Bakgat 3.

Altus shared the stage with Steve Hofmeyr in the stage production Dis hoe dit was... Die Steve Hofmeyr Storie at the State Theatre in 2007.

Altus played the lead in the critically acclaimed kykNET drama series Kruispad. He also plays a lead (Fafa) in the drama series Getroud Met Rugby, also on kykNET.

He worked with Ilse van Heemert in the Schalk Schoombie play Samoerai that premiered at Aardklop in 2008. Samoerai was also performed at Innibos and KKNK in 2009. Altus's one-man show, Hoe 'n man se kop werk, was sold out at KKNK and Volksbladfees.

Altus played a cameo role in the Afrikaans film Superhelde as well as the film Stilte, directed by Darrel Roodt. Getroud Met Rugby – Die Onvertelde Storie was released in cinemas nationwide in March 2011.

He featured in the film – Roepman – directed by Paul Eilers. In 2011 Altus was seen on stage playing a lead in the musical Tree Aan! and was a resident continuity presenter on kykNET in 2011 and 2012.

In 2012 he was seen on stage again in Deon Opperman's original musical Lied van my hart, with Steve Hofmeyr.

Altus released his first self-titled album in 2011. He was a guest vocalist in The Queen Experience with Joseph Clark at the Joburg Theatre in February 2013. Also in February, he was seen on the big screen in the film Verraaiers, set in the 1950's Boer war.

He also appeared in the feature film Ballade van Robbie de Wee and could be seen on screens across the USA as the lead badlander in a commercial for Coca-Cola, which was launched at the SuperBowl in February 2013.

In June 2013 he acted in the play Liefling – die Musiekblyspel, at the State Theatre. Later that year he had a role in the kykNET dperiod drama Donkerland.

In 2015 he had a starring role in the kykNET period drama series Bloedbroers.

He has been married to 7de Laan star Zetske van Pletzen since 6 January, 2012 and is the son-in-law of actor Pierre van Pletzen and the ste son-in-law of actress Sandra Vaughn.
