Bio

Sandra Vaughn is a South African actress known for her soapie roles as Debbie Meyer in 7de Laan and Karlize Schoeman in Isidingo (both in 2005) and for her starring role as Hannelie de Kock in the SABC2 police procedural television series Zero Tolerance, in 2006.

Sandra was born in Pretoria, where she is still living today. She completed her BA Drama degree (Cum Laude) at the University of Pretoria in 1995.

Early in 1996 she made her professional debut in PACT's farce: Hoe Later Hoe Kwater. This was followed by a lot of theatre productions, radio work, vocal work and TV advertisements.

1996 became even more memorable when Sandra married fellow thespian Pierre van Pletzen.

In 2004 she played her first lead character in a TV film called Swansong for Charlie, directed by Bobby Heaney. In this film she portrayed the role of a "sweet" middleclass "Afrikaans lass" - who is in the wrong place at the wrong time.

She made her debut in 7de Laan in 2005 in the role of the Hollywood starlet, Debbie Meyer. In 2006 she joined the cast of Zero Tolerance 3, portraying the role of one of five elite crime fighters that have a zero tolerance attitude towards crime.

She was fortunate enough to act with the likes of Ben Kruger, Nthati Moshesh, Meshack Mavuso and Terrence Bridgett.

In 2006 she worked behind the scenes of Laugh out Loud II as assistant creative coordinator, Big Suckers creator and had hours of fun hoaxing celebs like Shaleen Surtie-Richards, Zapiro, Sami Sabiti, Ryk Neethling, Johan Stemmet, Lee-Ann Liebenberg, Presley Chweneyagae and Rolanda Marais, to name a few.

Other television series she has acted in include 25 Degrees South, Casper Rasper Show, Haak en Steek, Life is Wild and Getroud Met Rugby, on which she is also a writer.
