Ancient Empires

This seven-hour miniseries explores the foundations of the greatest empires of all time and the incredible stories of the three iconic rulers who amassed unbelievable power and transformed the world.

Alexander the Great, Julius Caesar and Cleopatra. Rulers of Greek, Roman and Egyptian empires.

The three most iconic, powerful and brilliant leaders in ancient history.

Leaders whose lives and legacies still shape our world today.

Their names are well known, but their stories have never been told like this before.

To survive and succeed they had to be unique, strategic, ruthless and charming.

The story of their epic lives reveals just what it takes to rule over an Ancient Empire.

In the series premiere, "Alexander the Great": The greatest conqueror and general in history, Alexander the Great of Macedon built one of the largest empires ever seen in just 13 years.

But as he continues to push east, Alexander not only has to contend with an increasingly powerful enemy, but also the loyalty of his men, and his own growing dark side.

Ghosts 3 and 4 Christmas Specials

Christmas Special 2021

In the run up to the festive season, Kitty becomes convinced that Santa has made an early stop at Button House when Mike and Alison discover a man living in a tent on their grounds.

The ghosts' advice on how to deal with him leaves much to be desired, but eventually Mike and Alison learn that they have more to offer this Christmas than they realised.

Jennifer Saunders guest stars.

Christmas Special 2022

It's Christmas at Button House and Mike and Alison are heading to Mike's parents to celebrate with family.

As Mike loads up the containers with what he insists are only side dishes (despite one clearly being an entire turkey), Kitty expresses her disappointment at not spending Christmas day with Alison.

Alison promises that they'll be back by the evening and, what's more, she's left a gift for each of them in the library, with strict instructions not to 'open' them until Christmas Day – an edict that leaves Julian struggling with temptation.

The Ghosts, touched by Alison's thoughtful generosity, are inspired to give her a special Christmas present in return – but with Alison due back in a matter of hours, can they pull off their ambitious plan in time?

Mike's loaded food containers come in handy when their journey hits a bump in the road, forcing them to reassess their Christmas day plans.

And Kitty gets her moment in the spotlight thanks to a much-needed pep talk from a surprising source.
