The Saturday Showdown

Hosted by SuperSport's Thato Moeng and comedian Skhumba Hlophe, The Saturday Showdown sees five teams, captained by celebrities, battle it out for a R3.5-million grand prize.

The show aims for the atmosphere and competitiveness of an arena game, and the heart and wit of a game night with friends.

The Saturday Showdown is a laugh-a-minute game show that's also a fierce battle between very competitive teams who are fighting for the life-changing prize money.

Viewers at home also have an opportunity to win R50,000 every week.

There are five teams comprising of three players, including a DStv rewards studio player, who will face off over 13 episodes.

The teams will go head-to-head in a series of games testing skills (such as shooting hoops); luck (think: big wheel spins); and puzzles and pop culture activities, like karaoke.

All this culminates in a face off in which the teams go head to head in a game that encapsulates all of the above.

Who will emerge victorious?

In the series premiere: Team Black Diamonds lead by soccer legend Doctor Khumalo face off with Tsa Pitori captained by Sis Tamara in the first episode of the Saturday Showdown.

Holiday Baking Championship: Gingerbread Showdown 2

Cinnamon, spice and everything nice fills the air this time of year, as does the alluring fragrance of gingerbread, with Holiday Baking Championship: Gingerbread Showdown.

The series shines a light on gingerbread-obsessed artisans and their extraordinary edible creations.

Three teams of talented gingerbread artists face off in each standalone one-hour episode, where host Carla Hall and judges Kalen Allen and Stephanie Boswell determine whose gingerbread work is the finest.

In the Season 2 premiere, "Christmas 2999": Carla challenges three teams of bakers to decide what the holidays will look like in the future... in gingerbread form.

To make their displays as futuristic as possible, they'll make a dessert with a very space-age ingredient: freeze-dried berries.

Stephanie Boswell and Kalen Allen help Carla decide whose display is worth a modern $10,000 prize.
