Bridgerton

Channel: Netflix South Africa
TX Time: 10h00 (all episodes)
Genre: Period Drama

Bridgerton

The eight close-knit siblings of the Bridgerton family look for love and happiness in London high society.

From Shondaland and inspired by Julia Quinn's bestselling novels, Bridgerton follows Daphne Bridgerton, the eldest daughter of the powerful Bridgerton family as she makes her debut onto Regency London's competitive marriage market.

Hoping to follow in her parent's footsteps and find a match sparked by true love, Daphne's prospects initially seem to be unrivaled.

But as her older brother begins to rule out her potential suitors, the high society scandal sheet written by the mysterious Lady Whistledown casts aspersions on Daphne.

Enter the highly desirable and rebellious Duke of Hastings, committed bachelor and the catch of the season for the debutantes' mamas.

Despite proclaiming that they want nothing the other has to offer, their attraction is undeniable and sparks fly as they find themselves engaged in an increasing battle of wits while navigating society's expectations for their future.

Bridgerton celebrates the timelessness of enduring friendships, families finding their way, and the search for a love that conquers all.

A Berry Royal Christmas

Channel: BBC Lifestyle (DStv 174)
TX Time: 20h00
Genre: Food, Special

A Berry Royal Christmas

Join Mary Berry for a very festive Christmas as she visits a host of charities across the UK whose staff work throughout the holidays.

Inspired by her visits, Mary will design a fittingly festive feast for a very special party laid on by some VIPs.

This one-off treat will offer a unique look into charities that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge support.

Joining forces with them will be cookery legend, Mary Berry, as The Duke and Duchess invite her to accompany them on four special visits.

Throughout the programme Mary will also be cooking some of her favourite Christmas recipes for you to try out at home as she helps prepare the festive food for a very royal event to thank all those working and volunteering over the Christmas period.

The Duchess of Cambridge and Mary will travel to Liverpool to visit The Brink, the UK's first dry bar set up by Action on Addiction, that provides a safe space for people who are suffering from addiction.

The Duke of Cambridge and Mary will visit The Passage, which is the London's largest resource centre for homeless and insecurely housed people.

Along the way they will meet the inspiring people whose lives have been changed by the help and support these charities provide, especially at Christmas time.

Mary will also join The Duchess of Cambridge behind the scenes at RHS Wisley to learn more about the importance of the early years in raising the next generation of happy, healthy children.

The one-off festive special will culminate in a Christmas party, hosted by The Duke and Duchess, and will feature some surprise guests, including Nadiya Hussain, who will be reuniting with Mary Berry to help with the festive food.

The party will be held to thank and acknowledge staff and volunteers from charities and organisations who will be working tirelessly over the Christmas period.

Mary has designed the Christmas menu, and The Duke and Duchess will even be getting involved with some of the party prep.
