Homicide City: Charlotte

The city of Charlotte, North Carolina, is a major city and commercial and commonly considered one of the jewels of the American South.

But like any great city, it has a dark underbelly and has been the scene of many sinister crimes.

Told through the eyes of veteran homicide detective Garry McFadden and his colleagues at the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department, these are the fascinating but tragic stories of some of the dramatic murders that have taken place in this southern metropolis.

From a young teenager who is reported missing after not coming home, to an insurance auditor who disappears during a routine assignment and a hardworking mother-of-two found dead near a church, this series follows the twists and turns of the cases as investigators track down leads, interview witnesses and home in on suspects.

These are the cases so shocking that detective McFadden and his colleagues will never forget them.

When Nature Calls

Channel: Nat Geo Wild (DStv 182)
TX Time: 18h00
Genre: Wildlife, Docu-Reality

When Nature Calls

Rattlesnake in your backyard? They can catch it. Moose in your kitchen? No problem. Skunk hiding out in your car engine? Don't sweat it, they'll get it.

When wildlife gets too close for comfort, these animal relocators are the people you want to call for help.

Follow four teams of animal relocators as they respond to frantic calls for help from people who have come face to face with animals in their own backyards.

Their main objective is to keep both animals and people safe. No matter how desperate, outrageous or unbelievable the situation, these rescuers get the job done.

From a rogue moose in Alaska to curious skunks under kitchen sinks, these are the real stories of animal relocators.

In the series premiere, "Bobcat in the Coop": Someone's been eating a whole lot of pigeons, and it's not the homeowner. Two bobcats in Tucson must be relocated to prevent further destruction.

The claws are out in suburban Chicago where mink are killing thousands of dollars of koi fish.

Also, moose and bears are wreaking havoc in Anchorage backyards. Without proper deterrents, the community, and its pets, are in danger.

Half & Half

Channel: 1Magic (DStv 103)
TX Time: 17h00
Genre: Comedy

Half & Half

Sitcom set in San Francisco, about the lives of fictional half-sisters who have only one thing in common: their father.

Growing up separately, these two virtual strangers suddenly become neighbours in the same apartment building and experience the challenges of sisterhood for the first time.

Mona Thorne (Rachel True), a budding music executive, was raised by her single mother, Phyllis (Telma Hopkins), to be an independent woman who does things in her own free-spirited and sometimes sardonic way.

By contrast, younger sister Dee Dee Thorne (Essence Atkins) is a privileged honour-roll college student who grew up in a two-parent home, but searches for her own identity out of the shadow of her overbearing mother, Big Dee Dee (Valarie Pettiford).

Now in their twenties, these two vastly contrasting women are discovering the advantages and joys that the special bond of sisterhood offers.

But their relationship is not without its problems, as they often clash on everything from morals to money to men.

Meanwhile, Spencer (Chico Benymon), Mona's best friend, becomes the conscience of the group and helps build a bridge between the women.
