Your handy guide to SABC3's new 2018 schedule

SABC3 has announced a raft of schedule changes in another channel shake-up in the post-Hlaudi era.

The changes take effect from this Monday (5 February 2018) and have a notable impact on the early primetime shows, which lose the news in the middle of the line-up. 

The new schedule includes a selection of new and returning South African shows.

Here's an overview of the key schedule changes and the dates they take effect followed by a look at the new series:

Saturday movies Movies will air in a double bill at 19h00 and 21h30. When EFC is live, the movie will fall away.  
The Scoop  Thursdays at 20h30
(Repeats on Fridays at 15h00)

The Sunday Documentary Slot Sundays at 19h30 11 February 
EFC Magazine Sundays at 22h00 11 February 
Game shows Fridays at 20h00  9 February 

Please note: these times will be impacted on some days because of the broadcast of the cricket ODI's between India and South Africa but will resume when the cricket is over.

Other flash facts

Trending SA remains in its current timeslot on Mondays and Tuesdays at 21h30 but gets a 15h30 repeat on Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays.

#WTFTumi remains in its current timeslot on Wednesdays and Thursdays at 21h30 but gets a 15h30 repeat on Wednesdays and Thursdays.

A lifestyle variety slot has been introduced starting on Sundays at 13h00 from 11 February 2018. The repeats will air on Tuesdays at 14h30 from 13 February.

Sunday's broadcast of Mela at 14h00 won't be impacted but the repeat will move from Thursdays to Mondays at 14h30.

Tropika Island of Treasure returns for Season 8 on Monday, 5 February at 19h30.




The Hostess with Lorna Maseko returns for Season 2 on Wednesday, 14 February at 20h30.
