This just in... an update from Mzansi Magic about the channel's new year premieres.

As you'll see, the channel's #1 show Our Perfect Wedding is still very much on the schedule despite the fact that it's been bleeding sponsors. Both ABSA and Vodacom pulled out of the show this month after the controversy caused by the episode on Sunday, 29 November which was accused of glamourising rape culture.

If you missed Dr Tlaleng Mofokeng's letter about it to the Broadcasting Complaints Commission, you'll find it here: OPW - What a disgrace.

January line-up

The channel ushers in the new year with a new (sixth) season of Our Perfect Wedding, premiering on the 3rd of January. Tumi Morake says goodbye and Thembisa Moda steps up as the new host.
On the 12th of January Utatakho returns with a third season. Nimrod Nkosi continues on the quest to help individuals who have questions regarding their parentage.
While still addressing family issues, Please Step In returns with a second season on the 11th of January, focusing on resolving issues around a particular family member through intervention and engagement. If your family needs help, here's a link with details on how to apply: How can I get help from Please Step In?
Fans of Saints And Sinners who longed for closure as they witnessed the kidnapping of Phindi by her ex-boyfriend, Gibson will be glad to know that the show is returning with a second season on the 10th of January. In the new season everyone tries to overcome their past mistakes as they are faced with difficult choices.

Back by popular demand, the Diski Divas sashay back with a second season on the 13th of January featuring big changes to the cast line-up. See the new cast here: Big cast shake-up for Diski Divas 2.
On the following day the channel takes viewers on a trip to Durban in Ezase Afro’s which reveals what goes into maintaining one of the biggest music stables in SA. Tira takes us into the world of Afrotainment, Durban’s biggest music stable that has launched the careers of Big Nuz, DJ Cindo, Duncan and Joocy to name a few.  It premieres on the 14th of January.
The beat goes for music lovers with the return of Clash Of The Choirs SA for season 3 on the 10th of January. New host Lawrence Maleka replaces Bonang Matheba and the season's choirmasters are: Kelly Khumalo, Busiswa Gqulu, Penny Penny, JR, iFani, Bucie Nqwiliso and S’fiso Ncwane.
