MasterChef SA serves the wrong season first

On Celebrity MasterChef SA: Tall Ass Mo', Sade Giliberti and Terence Bridgett.

Season 3 of MasterChef South Africa premieres on M-Net this week - on Thursday (21 August) at 19h30.

The trouble is, it's starting at the wrong time because Celebrity MasterChef should be on instead!

As you may know, two seasons of the series have been filmed: a regular and celebrity version. The regular version starts now and the celeb one only starts in January.

These are the schlebs on it: Patricia Lewis, Lerato Moloi, Lorna Maseko, Merwelene van der Merwe, Tol A$$ Mo, Terence Bridgett, Sade Giliberti, Chris Forrest, Lunga Shabalala and Alex Jay.

Who I want to see now. I've been thinking about it a lot ... I'd much rather see the celeb version first. We've seen two seasons of the regular one already so it would have been such a nice change to see something different now. A perfectly timed change-up before getting back to a regular season again.

It would have been good for Season 3 too because the celebs themselves will create buzz around their season when it's on. If their season aired first, their buzz would have promoted Season 3.

One could argue that once people have seen the celeb edition, they'll lose interest in the regular folk version and wouldn't tune in if it aired immediately after but I very much doubt that would happen. I'd put my head on a block it would be the other way round - that Season 3 would get more viewers if the celeb version aired first.
