As I spilt on Friday,
M-Net's Galaxy of Stars happened on Saturday night, at Gallagher Convention in Centre in Jozi. I hit the party for us and had a chuckle shortly after I arrived when I discovered that Big Brother's Mandla and Lexi are still together. Ha!
They arrived on the red carpet together and confirmed that they're still very much an item. I was shocked - didn't for a moment believe it would last between them so I was amused and surprised that it has.
Of course I wondered if it's part of a continued showmance - if they're together for the show of it but then something quite revealing happened.
Lexi started chatting to me and she spoke and spoke and
spoke and Mandla just sort of stood there, looking happy. As if it didn't matter what she was saying because he was enjoying the sound of her voice.
I wondered about the moolah too obviously. Is Lexi with Mandla for the cash? It came up in conversation before I could ask and Lexi told me it isn't about the money.
She's relocated to Jozi to be close to Mandla and to pursue a career in the entertainment industry and Mandla's pursuing music. I asked if he's spent his winnings yet and he hasn't. He's invested it.
From the sounds of it he's needed to hide it because there's been pressure on them when they're out and about. Lexi told me that people often want things from them or ask them for things etc.
All in all it was a trippy reality encounter with them. I could see the pressures they must have faced yet they seem genuinely happy to be together.
Of course the lurve-fest didn't stop Lexi from flirting with this dude a little later ...
I don't have a clue who he was but he clearly knew who Lexi was and was chatting her up bigtime. As you can see, Lexi was happy - which suggests that Mandla enjoys it too. He wouldn't be dating sexy Lexi if he didn't!
