A number of people have been hitting social networks trying to get info on Lil Wayne tickets and some people believe they are sold out. Well, they are not...

The Cape Town concert which is taking place tonight is definitely sold out. So, askies on this one.

However, both the Johannesburg and Durban legs of the concert are not sold out (At the time of writing this article.) So, if you are a YMCMB fan, make sure you get the last batch at Computicket, instead of attacking Lil Wayne for saying he's coming to Africa.

Weezy mentioned this statement and a number of South Africans became upset

This is one of the comments

Then a flood of anti-Africa, anti-Lil Wayne Tweets followed...

If I may ask, where exactly is South Africa
Isn't it in Africa
Then why would peeps on Twitter go gaga over this fact?

So, these people must also shoot themselves and every South African down who says they are going to the US or America or Europe. They must specify the physical address and include the code of where they are going... DONE!

Mxm..

Anyway, back to the concert. Here's all the info you'll need about the concert:

“HIP-HOP KING” LIL WAYNE TOURS SA AS PART OF WORLD TOUR

He’s hip-hop’s biggest name, its deadliest lyricist and the genre’s most flourishing touring act; he’s an in demand performer with fan bases across the globe; he’s Lil Wayne and he’s bringing his worldwide “I Am Still Music Tour” to South Africa this week. Hip Hop fans are in for a treat as the Young Money Crew, Corey Gunz, Gudda Gudda, Mack Maine, Shannel, T-Streets and Jae Millz join Lil Wayne to make this line-up the hottest hip hop gig ever staged in South Africa.

Brought to you by Canoc Productions and Channel O, this GRAMMY Award winning, multi platinum artist and the Young Money Crew perform in Cape Town on 7th December at the Bellville Velodrome, followed performances at the Coca Cola Dome, Johannesburg on the 9th December and 10th December ending in Durban with two concerts at the Wavehouse on 11th and 12th December 2011. Tickets on sale at Computicket. Six-foot-two, 300-pound Rick Ross – a “hip-hop heavyweight,” as described by the New York Times – will be joining Lil Wayne as the supporting act for the Johannesburg concerts only. Canoc Productions and Channel O recently announced is a one-night only performance by a “surprise” artist at the Coca Cola Dome on 10 December (Is it Drake maybe??)

Visiting our shores for the first time, this is a major coup for the South African live music scene and for local promoters Canoc Productions and media partner, Channel O. Canoc’s Glen Netshipise says, “Few will argue with him being the best rapper alive; no rapper has made more hits in modern time than Lil Wayne and his live performances are to die for. It is our ultimate pleasure to present you Lil Wayne and the hottest hip hop line up ever.”

In their continued effort to support South African musicians Canoc Productions launched the Lil Wayne supporting act competition last week for both established and up and upcoming artists. The competition is a once in a lifetime opportunity for local musicians, DJ’s, dancers and bands to perform at one of the Lil Wayne concerts in each city. Entries via http://www.facebook.com/pages/Listen-with-Care/9223934676 until closing date, 04 December 2011.

One look at Lil Wayne’s impeccable track record will convince even the most ardent skeptic that the New Orleans born lyricist is a strong contender for the crown of “greatest hip-hop artist of all times”. Born Dwayne Michael Carter, Jr., Lil Wayne a.k.a. Weezy F Baby, will go down in history as the best rapper of his generation. Indeed, he may go down as one of the best hip-hop artists ever.

This year alone, Lil Wayne was named one of Forbes Magazine’s top earning rap stars, Rolling Stone Magazine’s “Hip-Hop Kings,” and he recently performed on MTV Network’s coveted and legendary “Unplugged” series. Lil Wayne holds the record for the most Top 100 Hits by a Rap Artist with 64 hits between 1999 and 2010.Musically, Tha Carter series (Tha Carter in 2004, Tha Carter II in 2005, Tha Carter III in 2008) has seen Wayne, a four-time Grammy winner, elevate artistically and his status as the biggest name in music continues to grow. Tha Carter III, is widely regarded as one of the top rap albums of all-time, is the last hip-hop album to sell one million copies in its first week of release and spawned timeless hits such as “A Milli,” “Mrs. Officer,” and his first solo number one single “Lollipop.” The Tha Carter IV album (and his ninth studio album) was released last month, selling more than 960 000 copies in the U.S.A in its first week on sale. Last week the album went double platinum. “You can’t compare any other artist out there to me,” the charismatic Lil Wayne rightfully declares. “They are them, I am me. Nobody can do what I can. I am the best at what I do and that’s everything.”

Despite controversy Lil Wayne continues to successfully build his career and to influence the worldwide hip-hop phenomenon. When he is not recording or on tour, Lil Wayne is CEO of Wayne’s Young Money Entertainment company with its Young Money and Cash Money recording labels that have become the premier brand in music. No other company has been able to break the amount of new acts with the success of Wayne. His franchise players Drake and Nicki Minaj both became household names in 2010 when both of their LPs Thank Me Later and Pink Friday respectfully debuted at the top of the charts and went on to become multi-platinum.

Don’t miss the world’s greatest hip-hop star and hip hop's greatest line-up in Cape Town, Johannesburg and Durban. Lil Wayne, no-one does it better. “Don’t drop this one, it’s hot!”

Pru, mina what upsets me about this Americans is that they say we are Africa and they say it in a patronising way. Like we live with lions and stuff. It's just sick. As much as we are in Africa, we are in South Africa. When I go to Italy, I don't say I'm going to Europe.

Lol Makisto true that! They still havethat pre-conceived notion of jungles etc I mean really now...you got invited to perform here and you accepted clearly you know the bckgrund of this country why keep patrosing us and then claim to be happy to be in "The Motherland"? Ag, go hunt with the lions man!

Ok... I'm lost. If I go to New York, I'll say I'm going to the US because saying US has a bigger impact than saying New York, particularly if I've never been to America.

He didn't say "On the way to a jungle or forest or elephant park."

Why are we as AFRICAns pissed off? Are we not proud of our continent - AFRICA? Are we bigger than our African continent? It seems like we hate being part of Africa or do we?

He didn't mention anything more. So, why are we jumping to conclusions?

I don't get why anyone would be pissed when someone says they are coming to Africa. Like if I was on Mars, I would say I'm going to earth, not necessarily Africa...

Americans are like (ignorant) Joburg (or big city) people. They care less, if at all, about anything else. They would say they go to Limpopo or Eastern Cape or Mpumalanga when in fact there's a specific place they go to in those provinces.

So ya'll (those complaining) need to sit down!

Not sure what this Africa noise is about!  South Africa is in Africa.

Anyway, I saw Drake's tweet yesterday that he is going to Africa, so i think he will be the surprise artist
