Fear Factor South Africa contestants announced!

After a nationwide search e.tv have nailed down the 12 contestants who will be competing on the second season of Fear Factor South Africa.

These poor whackjobs clearly decided that their idea of a fun time would be eating pizza made from bile-based crust, coagulated blood sauce and rancid cheese, with an enticing choice of two toppings: worms or fish eyes.

Who are we to complain?

As with the first season of the show, contestants were housed in a boot camp for the duration of the show in order to "increase the competition element of the show, build tension between contestants and more clearly display the contestants' personalities to the viewers", according to the channel.

They'll be playing for R300,000, which is up from the first season's R250,000. The show will be hosted by Lungile Radu of O-Boma, Kasi 101 and It's For Life fame.

There are six males and six females, or six loonies and six loonies, depending on your interpretation of it all.

Who are they? Why - this crowd, of course...

Angela Churchill

Age: 31
From: Fourways
Occupation: Manager
Quote: "I would have to say that my worst fear is drowning and the bravest thing that I've ever done is sky diving. I believe that the quickest way to get through any challenge is straight through the middle so I always dive in head first into any challenge."

TVSA Profile: Angela Churchill

Carel Bezuidenhout

Age: 31
From: Centurion (Eastern Cape)
Occupation: Sports Psychologist
Quote: "My worst fear is the unexpected. I've been injured many times, I've had a broken elbow and a rock's fallen on my head so I won't be any stranger to pain."

TVSA Profile: Carel Bezuidenhout

Delicia Machelm

Age: 26
From: Cape Town
Occupation: Product Developer
Quote: "The bravest thing that I have ever done would have to be telling my father that I was going to be a contestant on Fear Factor. My greatest fear would be a fear of confined spaces, especially in the dark, like coffins and stuff."

TVSA Profile: Delicia Machelm

Jean Hererwill

Age: 34
From: Johannesburg
Occupation: Executive PA
Quote: "My worst fear is having to put make up on and having to love myself. My philosophy in life is to be the best and only the best that I can be."

TVSA Profile: Jean Hererwill

Khuselo Vutela

Age: 26
From: Ntuzuma, Durban
Occupation: Call Centre Agent
Quote: "My worst fear, I think, would have to be claustrophobia. I don't like small spaces. The most physical thing I've ever done is to break bricks with my fists and legs during Karate practice."

TVSA Profile: Khuselo Vutela

Marlon Alister Ried

Age: 26
From: Stellenbosch
Occupation: Student
Quote: "I'd say that my worst fear would be drowning and that the bravest thing that I've ever done was to travel alone to the USA, Canada, the United Kingdom and to Europe."

TVSA Profile: Marlon Alister Ried

Palesa Masiteng

Age: 23
From: Gauteng
Occupation: Student
Quote: "My greatest fear is drowning, along with being emotionally vulnerable. I handle stress by withdrawing into myself and analysing the situation and the best way to overcome it."

TVSA Profile: Palesa Masiteng

Portia Malinga

Age: 29
From: Durban
Occupation: Gym Instructor
Quote: "My worst fear is heights and one of the reasons that I'm entering Fear Factor is to overcome this fear. The bravest thing that I've ever done is when I shot a man in the knee who tried to rob me."

TVSA Profile: Portia Malinga

Schuyler Vorster

Age: 24
From: Fourways
Occupation: Marketing
Quote: "I'm here to test myself and to live a life less ordinary. Other contestants are here to make a name for themselves but I'm here to achieve something. I'm arrogant and I'm not here to make friends."

TVSA Profile: Schuyler Vorster

Tanya Verster

Age: Unknown
From: Johannesburg
Occupation: Teacher, Entrepreneur, Model
Quote: "My worst fear? Well I would say needles are my worst fear, although I've had three tattoos in the past year. I'd say that the bravest thing that I've ever done would be this, entering the Fear Factor competition."

TVSA Profile: Tanya Verster

Youven Govender

Age: 27
From: Pietermaritzburg
Occupation: Entrepreneur
Quote: "I think that my worst fear on the show would be the eating challenges, but I can deal with stress. When I'm stressed out I normally just take a deep breath and talk to myself to calm down."

TVSA Profile: Youven Govender

Zingisani Mzamo

Age: 24
From: Cape Town
Occupation: Salesman
Quote: "My worst fear on the show, I think, will have to be the gogga's. They're going to take quite some doing. In the few episodes of last season's show that I saw I was disgusted by all the crying. All that bonding stuff didn't work for me at all!"
