Season 2
The story of Durban Gen is set in the heart of Newlands East, a township in Durban, where the most prominent and recognisable academic public hospital Durban General is found.
Durban Gen is a highly acclaimed hospital - the jewel of KwaZulu-Natal healthcare.
It is a centre of excellence where every doctor wants to practice and every patient wants to be treated.
The second season of Durban Gen brings double the hot-throb moments, with two funerals in the first week alone.
Thokozisa Ziqubu joins the cast this season as Dr Lethuxolo Bhengu, a goody-two-shoes second-year intern who'll worm his way into the Durban General hospital.
He goes as far as snitching on his colleagues just to secure his place, but at the same time makes himself very unpopular amongst his colleagues.
Yola Plaatjie also joins the show as Dr Nangamso Jack, a first-year intern, free-spirited and a hippie.
Dr Jack went to MEDUNSA on a scholarship which makes the other interns undermine her, but even though she is not competitive by nature, she laps them without even trying.
There's also a new paramedic by the name of Thembi the "Thembinator", played by Sibongokuhle Nkosi.
Thembi is a hot young thing who turns heads in every room she walks into. She is also MacGyver's new partner.
She is bisexual and a heartbreaker and leaves no survivors in the love game.
In the Season 2 premiere: The cold-blooded murder of Sibusiso plunges Mbali into grief, but all things in life passes and she soon finds herself back in the centre of a scandalous love triangle.

Season 2 consists of 390 episodes. The first 315 episodes aired on e.tv and eExtra from 4 October, 2021 to 16 December, 2022.
Season 2 went on hiatus from 19 December, 2022 to 6 January, 2023, returning with Episode 316 on Monday 9 January, 2023.
