Season 2
Sara se Geheim (Sarah's Secret) is a South African, Afrikaans-language television drama series produced by Paw Paw Films which revolves around two families that are bound inextricably together by a decades-old lie.
The series is set in Cape Town, with two stories taking place at the same time - one about a family in Durbanville and the other of a family in Athlone. These families' lives are seemingly worlds apart, but a lie connects them - a lie which has been held secret for 35 long years...
This season, Maggie is still trying to keep her family together, whilst pursuing her political career, but the tension in her family, as well as her dark secret, makes this an almost impossible challenge.
Sara does her best to support Johan, but her relationship with Lizzie suffers because of this. Will Sanel and Ebert win the battle against Alzheimers? Will Ricky survive the incident? How long can one person keep secrets hidden?
In the Season 2 premiere: Maggie and Virgil must keep their heads following the murder at the end of last season. Ricky bleeds out on the beach and needs an urgent blood transfusion. The arrested Astonia boys are awaiting their bail hearing.
All of the main cast return from the first season with a number of new actors including Albert Maritz, Hannes van Wyk, Stian Bam, Suzanne Beyers, Marion Holm, Roeline Daneel, Martelise Kolver, Maurice Carpede, Marvin-Lee Beukes, Phillip Henn, Elana Afrika-Bredenkamp and Schalk Bezuidenhout.
The series is produced for kykNET by Paw Paw Films, a subdivision of Penguin Films. The supervising producer for kykNET is Anneke Villet. Original music is by Murray Anderson.
