Broken Heart Syndrome is a medical term referring to a short-term heart condition that's often brought on by stressful situations. With the return of Love Back one can only hope the show will reduce the number of broken hearts when it takes on the mammoth task of reuniting lovers.
The fourth season sees Thomas Gumede, former Love Back presenter, return as the presenter to take up the reigns from Season 3 host, Wright Ngubeni. Gumede describes his role as "playing cupid, but not really" and hopes to spread "uthando" all over Mzansi.
Kicking off the first episode of the season, we meet 31-year-old Ndlaleni Mkhwanazi from Dlamini in Soweto. Ndlaleni wrote to Love Back because she wants her ex-wife to give her another chance.
Ironically, Ndlaleni divorced her partner, Dimakatso, when the truth about Ndlaleni's own infidelities surfaced. Will Dimakatso find it in her heart to forgive Ndlaleni and give their relationship another chance?
The series was executive produced by Thomas Gumede, Lungile Radu, Simphiwe Mhlongo and Siyabonga Ngwekazi for Parental Advisory Productions; and directed by Radu. The theme music was by HeavyW8 Productions.
