Season 4

In 2007 Idols ended its two-year break and returned for a fourth season. News about the season was released by M-Net on 13 April, 2007 and the auditions began in Johannesburg at the Standard Bank Arena on 23 June, 2007.

Judges Dave Thompson, Mara Louw, Randall Abrahams and Gareth Cliff returned for the season, and Colin Moss once more hosted the show.

Entering Idols 4

Unlike previous seasons, contestants didn't need to fill in an entry form to enter. Instead the show used the US model that makes a call to hopefuls to arrive on the audition day without any pre-registration.

The only consideration auditionees needed to take into account was the age requirement. To qualify, contestants had to be at least 16 and no older than 30 as of 22 June, 2007. Hopefuls who turned 16 on 23 June also couldn't enter this season.

Audition Dates

Dates and venues for the auditions were as follows:

Cape Town
The River Club in Observatory, Friday, 29 June

Margate
Main Beach, Thursday, 5 July

Knysna
