Season 1

Kasi 101 (formerly known as Set It Off Kwaito) is a South African kwaito lifestyle show produced by Black Rage Productions and hosted by Lungile Radu in which he hits the streets of Mzansi in search of fresh kwaito talent, occasionally also spending a day with a kwaito artist to get the lowdown on the genre.

The series originally aired on DStv's Channel O from 28 August, 2005 to 28 March, 2012, on Sundays at 13h00. It later aired on DStv's Mzansi Wethu channel.

Kasi 101 premiered on Mzansi Wethu on Thursday 9 May 2013, at 20h00. New episodes broadcast weekly.

Synopsis

Presented by Channel O's Lungile "Lungsta" Radu, Kasi 101 is a kwaito lifestyle show which provides fans with an insider's look into the lives and music of artists emerging from South Africa's townships.

It experiences township life up close and examines the stars, the music, the fashion and energetic pace of "Kasi" life.

The show has featured numerous established and up-and-coming artists including Mzekezeke, Kabelo "Bouga Luv", Malaika, DJ Tira, Robbie Malinga, TKZee, Winnie Khumalo, Zola, Thembi Seete, Liquideep, Jah Seed, Malik, Fresh and Euphonik, Lulo Cafe, Zakes Bantwini and Tumelo, Spikiri and Ishmael to name a few.

Other feature artists include Miza and Nutty Nys, Vinny Da Vinci, Culoe de Song, Speedy, TS Records, Big Nuz, DJ Quness, Phila, Bongi Dube among many others.

There have also been several specials on such topics as Record Labels and Kwaito Beefs.
