Season 1

Being Human is an American supernatural drama television series created by Toby Whithouse and based on the British series of the same name, which revolves around three roommates living in Boston who appear to be in their twenties. The trio try to live a normal life despite being a ghost, a vampire and a werewolf.

The series premiered in the USA on Syfy on 17 January, 2011.

Being Human premiered in South Africa on DStv's M-Net Series channel on Monday 31 October 2011, at 21h30. It moved to M-Net Series Showcase (simulcast in HD) from Season 3, when the former channel became defunct in July 2013. See "Seasons" below for seasonal broadcast dates and times.

Season 1 aired on M-Net Series from 31 October, 2011 to 23 January, 2012, on Mondays at 21h30. New episodes broadcast weekly. There are 13 episodes in the first season.

Season 1

Being Human is a re-imagining of the acclaimed BBC original series that follows three 20-something roommates: a ghost, a vampire and a werewolf who are struggling to keep their dark secrets from the world, while also helping each other navigate the complexities of living double lives.

In Being Human, leading normal lives is a lot harder than it looks for three paranormal roommates - vampire Aidan (Sam Witwer), ghost Sally (Meaghan Rath) and werewolf Josh (Sam Huntington) - who share their secrets and a Boston brownstone.

Together they try their best to be human while navigating the complexities of living double lives.

Mark Pellegrino (Lost) co-stars as Bishop, Aidan's charismatic but menacing vampire mentor. Executive Producers are Michael Prupas (The Kennedys, Pillars of the Earth), Jeremy Carver (Supernatural) and Anna Fricke (Men in Trees, Everwood) who are both writers/showrunners, and Rob Pursey and Toby Whithouse.

Irene Litinsky is series Producer and Adam Kane (The Mentalist, Heroes) is Co-Executive Producer. Muse Entertainment produces the show, which is based on the acclaimed UK series created by Toby Whithouse.
