Season 1

Moving On is a British television drama series produced by LA Productions which consists of five standalone contemporary dramas which are all linked by one central theme: how to "move on" and reach a turning point in your life.

The series premiered in the UK on BBC One on 18 May 2009. A second season will air in the UK in 2010.

Moving On premiered in South Africa on M-Net on Monday 7 December 2009, at 20h30. New episodes air weekly. There are five hour-long episodes in the first season.

Synopsis

Moving On is a five-part series about people making life-changing decisions, with a cast of top UK acting talent including Sheila Hancock, Lesley Sharpe, Richard Armitage, Dervla Kirwan and Ian Hart.

In Drowning Not Waving, a debt-ridden woman’s ex-boyfriend offers to buy her house and rent it back to her, but there’s a catch.

In The Rain Has Stopped, after a whirlwind holiday romance Liz plans to marry 54-year-old Damar, but her children are appalled.

Bully follows the increasingly strained relationships between two once-close families as they become more and more distant from each other following an uncomfortable holiday.

Material Gain highlights the dilemma facing 17-year-old Daniel, a boy with a secret.

The Butterfly Effect uncovers the tale of homeless centre worker, Sylvie Jackson, who is threatened by a local psycho. But can she find the courage to testify against him?
