Touched by an Angel is an American drama television series created by John Masius and Martha Williamson in which each week a different person or group of people come to a crossroad in their lives and are visited and helped by angels.
The show ran on CBS from September 21, 1994 to April 27, 2003. There are 212 episodes in nine seasons.
Touched by an Angel originally aired in South Africa on SABC3. It later aired on DStv's M-Net Series channel.
Synopsis
Tess and Monica are angels sent down to Earth to help those with problems. Each week sees them deal with widely different people with widely different problems.
While dealing with the situation, the angels also try to re-establish faith and belief and Christian principles.
They are ably assisted by Andrew, the Angel of Death, Gloria and other angel-friends.
The series enjoyed continuous high ratings since it first aired and much of its wide appeal has been attributed to its non-judgemental and peaceful message.
