Description


Ludik is a South African action series in which a furniture tycoon must use his secret diamond smuggling operation to transport guns across the border in order to save a kidnapped family member.

The series revolves around Ludik, who appears to be a salt of the earth man, styling himself as a wholesome family man running a successful furniture business.

However, behind the veneer of respectability, Ludik is steeped in the underworld that sees him crossing paths with mobsters and murderers.

With his family in turmoil, jail time on the horizon and death imminent, Ludik must rely on both his old and new allies to prevail and save his everything.

Daan Ludik (Arnold Vosloo), coming from nothing, has built his own kingdom.

This successful furniture salesman is the face of his business.

He is heard on radio, seen on television and billboards.

A family man in the affluent Pretoria East, but with a secret that is connected to the underworld.

With his family life in turmoil, Daan's resourcefulness and priorities are constantly challenged as he risks exposure, losing his family, jail time and death.

As he struggles to keep his personal relationships and business intact, he has to rely on both old and new allies to prevail.

Rob van Vuuren takes on the role of Swys de Villiers, a troubled widower desperate to take a stand in his life.

Swys and Daan pull out all the stops in their fight for revenge, but unbeknownst to both men there are those closest to them who will stand in their way.

The cast includes Lizz Meiring (Maureen Ludik) and Terence Bridgett (DJ Jakes) as well as Inge Beckmann (Rina Goosen) and Sean Cameron Michael (Arend Brown), who all play an integral part in the unraveling of Daan Ludik's empire.

Ludik is a Netflix original production, created by Paul Buys and Annemarie van Basten and produced by Rose and Oaks Media.

The executive producers are Anele Mdoda, Paul Buys, Frankie du Toit, Ben Amadasun and Asgar Mahomed.

The series is directed by Ian Gabriel and Harold Holscher.

Music is by Peach van Pletzen.
