About the Show

Igazi is a South African supernatural drama series created and executive produced by Shona Ferguson and set against the backdrop of Johannesburg and the valley hills beyond Cofi Bay in the Eastern Cape, which tells the story of a Xhosa royal family in conflict over its throne.

As the family is at war with itself and magical forces of darkness, a man is forced into the battle for his father's kingdom. He has to overcome his own demons and accept his destiny.

The path ahead is filled with many complications that lead to one question, will the rightful king reign in this tale of magic, myth and melodrama?

The cast includes Nomhle Nkonyeni, Jet Novuka, Allen Booi, Peter Se-Puma, Zandile Msutwana, Thami Mngqolo, Anga Makubalo, Charmaine Mtinta, Zikhona Sodlaka, Zenande Mfenyana, Vatiswa Ndara, Mnatha Vika and Talitha Ndima.

Andile Nebulane replaced Thami Mngqolo in the role of Jonga for Season 2, along with new starring cast Zolisa Xaluva as Uncle Luvo and Ayanda Makayi as Boysie (replacing Given Stuurman from Season 1).

Igazi was created and executive produced by Shona Ferguson for Ferguson Films. Connie Ferguson is a producer and the head writers are Phathu Makwarela and Gwydion Beynon. The theme music and score is by Joel Assaizky.
