Latoya Lyakurwa (21) is a Tanzanian secretary from Arusha best known as one of the 12 housemates on the third season of the reality television competition Big Brother Africa, in 2008.
She was first housemate evicted, on Sunday 21 September 2008.
Latoya describes herself as an extrovert because she likes people and loves to have fun. She says that she thinks she was chosen for Big Brother Africa because she has what it takes and says that she is the "right ingredient to spice up the house."
The bubbly Latoya loves to shop, and enjoys dancing. Her favourite actors are Chris Tucker and Owen Wilson, and her favourite movie is the blockbuster DreamGirls.
She enjoys tuning in for The Tyra Banks Show and currently her favourite tune is Upgrade You by Beyonce and Jay-Z. Other performers she listens to include Linkin Park and Ludacris.
Latoya would like to visit Jerusalem.
Asked about her favourite memory, Latoya says that it was time spent with her first love. Close to her family, she says that if she wins $100,000 she’ll use it on them.
Commenting on her country, she says that Tanzanians are nice and humble and that the best place to visit in Tanzania is the Ngorongoro Crater.
