Harris can also be seen in Screen Gems thriller The Roommate opposite Leighton Meester and Minka Kelly, as well as in the Screen Gems comedy Mardi Gras with Regina Hall and Bret Ackleson, in which she stars as a New Orleans native who meets up with a group of friends traveling the country in search of the ultimate party.

After a successful recurring stint as vixen Rachel Gatina on the hit CW drama One Tree Hill, Harris joined the cast as a series regular for Season 4. Her bad girl with a heart character quickly became a fan favourite as she befriended former enemy Brooke Davis (Sophia Bush).

Her other television credits include recurring roles on JAG, Joey, What I Like About You, One Life to Live and appearances on How I Met Your Mother, Trust Me, NCIS, Charmed and CSI.

Harris left her hometown of Lafayette, Louisiana and headed to Los Angeles where she immediately started working as a model and actress. She currently resides in Los Angeles.

After dating for three years, Danneel became engaged to actor Jensen Ackles (best known for his role as Dean Winchester in Supernatural). The two starred together in Ten Inch Hero and married in Dallas, Texas on 15 May, 2010.
