Dirk Badenhorst is a South African dancer and dance therapist.Dirk completed a BA in Psychology and Philosophy as well as his MBA from the University of Potchefstroom before he went on to study at the University of Cape Town's Dance School.Dirk danced with South Africa's Capab Ballet and Pact Ballet and has also danced in Spain at the Helena Montoya Spanish Dance Theatre and at Austria's Danza Lorca.In 2001 Dirk combined his interests in Dance administration and youth development when he became a founding member and Chief Executive Officer of the South African Ballet Theatre.He is also a qualified practitioner in dance and movement therapy and is involved in various youth outreach projects.From 2003 to 2005 he was a member of the National Arts Council and in 2006 he was appointed Senior Program Director for Common Purpose in Cape Town.He is CEO and Artistic Director of the Cape Town-based South African National Ballet Competition.As of January 2008 he is one of the judges of kykNET's reality dance competition Dans! Dans! Dans!.
