Riaan Nel is a creative consultant who was a contestant on the reality television competition The Cut: South Africa, in 2006.Riaan was born in Nelspruit and lived in various other small farm towns until the age of 14 when his mom passed away. He then moved to Pretoria where he attended Tuine Tegnies and the Centurion College.Riaan has his own business in the creative sector and does camera work for a hobby. He is very involved with anything in the creative sector and sees himself as an Idealist.He says he entered The Cut because: “I want to experience the concept of bold and unique. No one has made space for an idealist. I stand for something else. I want to prove that you don’t need a diploma or a degree to get the job done."I believe that life experience is what shapes a creative mind and that creativity is the one thing that can’t be taught to a person."I would also like to get involved on the presenting side of the TV industry becuase I see that as a very unique side of the TV industry."
