Yvonne van den Bergh is a South African actress, voice artist, presenter and teacher best known for her role as Petra Malherbe Terreblanche on the first two seasons of the SABC2 soapie 7de Laan, from 2000-2002.

Yvonne had a happy childhood, living in a small mining town. She has a close relationship with her parents and has a younger sister and brother. In her school days she performed in school theatre productions, revues and youth choirs and participated in debates.

After completing a BA Drama at the University of Pretoria, she started her career in the late nineties, doing TV ads. Her first professional acting job was a small cameo role as a drunken lady in a red dress sitting on a barstool in the British film, Bravo Two Zero.

More serious work soon followed. Early career highlights include playing the female lead - the corrupt detective Jolene Maas - in the 1999 police thriller Die Vierde Kabinet, the role of battered policewoman Chantal van Wyk in the SABC police crime series Behind the Badge and presenting for the SABCs magazine program Pasella, in 1999.

In the year 2000 she started playing the architect with the troubled love life, Petra Malherbe, in the popular daily soap, 7de Laan.

She left 7de Laan after two seasons to play the female lead in the feature film Promised Land in 2003, which won two Sage awards. After that she honed her presenting skills on the controversial, age-restricted late-night talkshow, Saterdagnag.

Then came one of her favourite roles - the tragic Nonnie Nagel in the critically acclaimed drama series Orion, based on Deon Meyer's book with the same name, in 2006.

She also starred as the man-eater lawyer Chloe Malherbe in kykNET's drama series Die Vallei van Sluiers and also hosted the channel's flagship talk show, Glitterati, from 2009–2011.

Other television shows she has acted in/presented include MINDSET Learn, Marc Lottering's comedy show Loitering in Jozi, the kykNET drama Getroud Met Rugby, The SABC3 drama series The Lab, the SABC2 miniseries Huis van Liefde, the SABC3 comedy-drama FONT and the kykNET soapie Villa Rosa.

She has done numerous South African and international television ads, especially for Scandinavian countries. Some of the international clients she has worked for include Marabou Kex Chocolate (Switzerland), Meller Chocolate (Netherlands), Helsinki Media (Finland), Provinziale (Germany), Kahlua (Canada & Australia), AXA (Germany) and Dutch Lotto (Netherlands).

She has appeared in local commercials for clients including CNA, Impulse, Skip, Old Mutual and BMW Z3; and has performed in corporate productions for clients including Standard Bank Security Services and "Health & Safety" Bank Seta.

She enjoys spending time with her husband and two daughters and spoils them by baking exotic cakes. She loves yoga and crossfit training, reading, listening to electronic music, watching movies and playing PS3 games.
