John Kapelos is a Canadian actor best known for his role as Carl the Janitor in the seminal 80s movie The Breakfast Club. He also starred as Detective Don Schanke in the science fiction show Forever Knight, from 1992-1995.

He has had recurring roles in Just Cause (5 episodes, 2002), Queer As Folk (4 episodes, 2005) and Desperate Housewives Eugene Beale (4 episodes, 2006).

In addition, Kapelos has appeared in numerous television shows in guest starring roles, including Miami Vice; Who's The Boss?; L.A. Law; Murder, She Wrote; Matlock; Quantum Leap; Seinfeld; Home Improvement; Nash Bridges; The Practice; The West Wing; Angel; The X Files; ER; Judging Amy; Frasier; Crossing Jordan; Without A Trace; Boston Legal; Gilmore Girls; and One Tree Hill.

He has also made guest appearances on all three CSI franchise shows - CSI: Crime Scene Investigation (2002); CSI: Miami (2002); and CSI: NY (2006).

Kapelos also has an extensive feature film resume, mainly in supporting roles. Some of his films include The Breakfast Club (1985); Roxanne (1987); Internal Affairs (1990); The Relic (1997); The Deep End of the Ocean (1999); Ignition (2001); I Accuse (2003); Shallow Ground (2004); and Tripping Forward (2006).

He has had roles in a number of made-for-TV movies as well, including Nick Knight (1989); And the Sea Will Tell (1991); Highway Heartbreaker (1992); A Twist of the Knife (1993); Cool and the Crazy (1994); The Late Shift (1996); Wiseguy (1996); The Sports Pages (2001); Fire & Ice (2001); 111 Gramercy Park (2003); Identity Theft: The Michelle Brown Story (2004); and Category 7: The End of the World (2005).

In 2007 he is filming another made-for-TV movie, entitled Flight 29 Down: The Movie.
