Tyrone Watkins is a South African producer, director and choreographer best known as a judge on five seasons of the reality competition series Strictly Come Dancing.
He has produced stage musicals, industrial theatre and corporate entertainment productions of varying scales both locally and globally, including the musicals Fussion, Lattissimo and Africa Is Calling.
He is one of the founding directors of Retail Communiation Solutions (The RCS Group), established in 1999 and specialising in communication, media, property, events and entertainment. Tyrone heads up the RCS/Events Management & Entertainment division within the Group.
Tyrone appeared as a judge in five seasons of the celebrity dancing reality competition series Strictly Come Dancing and was head coach in the reality show The Summit.
A director and choreographer of over 185 productions, he is a director on the board of the South African Dance Foundation and an accredited international chairman or adjudicator for dance worldwide.
He has dance qualifications with the Imperial Society of Dance in London and was national coach of the acclaimed Dance Champions, who repesented South Africa internationally. His international accolades include being a finalist in the International Championships at the Royal Albert Hall in England and designed the choreography for a renowned casino in Slovenia.
He was the undefeated South African dance champion in Ballroom and Latin American dancing. Together with his dance partner Salome Sechele, he has represented South Africa in Hong Kong, Miami, Switzerland, Netherlands, Russia, UK, Germany and France.
