Jai'prakash Sewram is a South African actor, comedian and voice artist best known for his starring role as Ravi Chetty, the waiter/bartender at the casino bar who specialises in cocktails and "flaring" for the customers, in the SABC3 telenovela High Rollers.
He is also known for his recurring role as Mr Govender on the SABC1 sitcom Thandeka's Diary.
Jai is also credited as Jai'prakash, Jaiprakash, Jai Sewram and Jai Prakash.
Television series he has guest starred in include the SABC1 sitcom City Ses'la, the SABC1 soapie Generations, the SABC2 soapie 7de Laan and the M-Net drama series Snitch.
He also acted in Mollie & Wors: The Movie, the 2015 film Free State and the shorts Journey of Souls (2012), I Feel Pretty (2013) and BEE: The Musical, also in 2013.
Jai has acted in a number of theatre productions as well including a 2007 production of Sweeney Tood directed by Gordon Lynsay, Much Ado About Nothing, Noises Off, Encore! and After Dark.
He appeared in a music video for Robbie Wessels (Super Gees) and has featured in a number of commercials for clients including Dial Direct, Wimpy, King Price and SANRAL.
In 2015 he landed his first starring role in television when his character on High Rollers was upgraded from recurring to regular for the second season, when the show changed from a weekly serial drama to a three-day-a-week telenovela, the first original telenovela on the channel.
In the same year he began a recurring role as Mr Govender in the SABC1 teen sitcom Thandeka's Diary.
