David James is a South African actor, dancer and singer best known for his role as Koobus Venter in the science fiction film District 9, in 2009.
He has acted in several television series including The Confidant, Criminal Minds, Snitch, Jozi Streets, Isidingo, Solving It, Binnelanders, Wild at Heart and Kidnap and Ransom.
James does most of his work in theatre, having performed in dozens of productions since the late 1980s. Theatre productions he has acted in include Kiss Me Kate, Aladdin, Turandot, Willie Wouter, Peter Rabbit, Cinderella, Charlotte's Web, A Midsummer Night's Dream, My Fair Lady, Everybody Else is Fucking Perfect, The Rivonia Trials and Jock of the Bushveld.
He has worked for numerous corporate clients as well including Nedbank, Compaq, FNB, IBM, Shoprite Checkers, ABSA, Cell C, Momentum Life and Toys 'R Us.
David has had weapons training with numerous firearms and ordnance including R% and R6 rifles, 9mm pistols, Neo-Pup grenade launchers and glocks.
He speaks English and Afrikaans.
