Season 1

Kidnap and Ransom is a British thriller television series created by Patrick Harbinson and produced by Projector Pictures in partnership with talkbackTHAMES which revolves around the latest case for expert British hostage negotiator Dominic King.

The series aired in the UK on ITV from 13 January, 2011 to 8 March, 2012. There are six hour-long episodes in two seasons.

Kidnap and Ransom premiered in South Africa on DStv's BBC Entertainment channel on Monday 28 November 2011, at 21h00. See "Seasons" below for seasonal broadcast dates and times.

Season 1 aired on BBC Entertainment from 28 November to 12 December, 2011, on Mondays at 21h00. New episodes broadcast weekly. There are three episodes in the first season.

Season 1

Kidnap and Ransom stars Trevor Eve as international hostage negotiator, Dominic King. The thriller is the first drama to come out of Eve's production company, Projector Pictures, whilst in partnership with talkbackTHAMES.

The series was created by Patrick Harbinson and was filmed on location in South Africa.

Eve stars alongside John Hannah, Helen Baxendale, Natasha Little, Emma Fielding, Amara Karan and Patrick Baladi.

When a businesswoman (Fielding) is kidnapped in South Africa, expert hostage negotiator Dominic King (Eve) believes he's dealing with a straightforward case – pay the money, get her back.

But when the release is botched and they strike again in Britain, the kidnapper, Willard's (Hannah) motives become far more sinister.

With trouble brewing at home with his wife Sophie (Little) and teenage daughter - and his team, boss Angela (Baxendale) and ambitious assistant Carrie (Karan) pushed to the limit, King must draw on all his reserves to bring the victims home alive.

Kidnap and Ransom is a talkbackTHAMES/Projector Pictures co-production for ITV1. Executive Producers are Trevor Eve, Jonathan Young and Rachel Gesua. The producer is Trevor Hopkins and the Director is Andy Wilson.
