Bio

Rebecca Hazlewood is an English actress best known for her starring role as Asha, a smart, confident, striking woman at the Mid America Novelties call centre, who finds herself intrigued by Todd (Ben Rappaport) and by American culture, in the television sitcom Outsourced, from 2010-2011.

Hazlewood was seen on the big screen starring in the independent film Kissing Cousins as Zara, the female lead. The film premiered at the Dubai International Film Festival in 2008.

Her other film credits include starring roles in Chris Doyle's Meeting Helen with Madeline Potter and Emily Woof, and in Film4's groundbreaking film Dog Eat Dog, alongside Ricky Gervais, David Oyelowo and Gary Kemp.

In 2008, Hazlewood had a recurring role on ER as Jaspreet. On British television, she starred in the lead role of Arun Parmar on the popular psychodrama Bad Girls, and opposite Clive Owen in the TV drama Second Sight, as well as in the lead role of Sia in BBC1's 2010 spin-off drama series Master of the Universe.

Classically trained, Hazlewood studied the Meisner technique with an underground theatre company for over six years. Her performance of Shakespeare's Juliet at the theatre's showcase attracted the attention and support of Mike Figgis, who encouraged her to pursue a career in America.

Hazlewood graduated with a high-class degree in English literature with honours from prestigious art school Bretton Hall.

She was selected by tutors to perform as Isabella in Measure for Measure at the Edinburgh Festival, where she was approached by agents and decided to follow her passion for acting.
