Shortly thereafter he studied a BA Drama at the University of Pretoria. At the end of his third year he was appointed as a professional actor at PACT and thus began his career in the entertainment industry.

After 1995, after a few years of missionary work in Europe, he returned to South Africa to play a role in Egoli. He withdrew himself from the entertainment industry for seven years, during which time he became a pastor.
