Bio

Mary Makhatho (sometimes credited as Makgatho) was a South African actress best known for her role as Thandi in the 2005 feature film Duma, directed by Carroll Ballard.

On TV, she was known for multiple roles including her starring role as Esther Mamoruti Tlhong in the SABC2 sitcom Ga Re Dumele, from 2010-2013.

In 2010 she played the role of Nelly in the e.tv drama series eKasi: Our Stories, in the episode entitled "Sugar Mommy" (Season 2, Episode 4).

From 2015 to 2016 she starred as Mosumbuka on the SABC2 drama series Mamello.

She also played Puleng on the SABC1 soapie Generations, Connie on e.tv soapie Rhythm City and Refiloe on Mzansi Magic's Greed & Desire.

She died on Monday, 7 August 2017 after suffering a fall in July which left her with serious injuries. She would have turned 52 on 10 August.
