M-Net partners with multiple studios on another international co-production titled Endangered, based on the book Piranha by crime writer Rudie Van Rensburg. Centres round Montgomery Smith, a wealthy Englishman-in-exile, who runs an illegal, dangerous syndicate smuggling endangered rhino horn, and veteran detective Captain Kassie Kasselman who aggressively pursues him. Six episodes. Production begins in 2024.

It's a co-production between M-Net and MultiChoice, Strong Studios, Convergent Media and ForLan Films.

You don't want to have to keep up on their Zoom calls.

The screenplay is by Jake Riddell, who contributed to the writing on M-Net's other co-production Reyka.

It's produced by Stuart Urban, who wrote and produced the true life drama The Secret, about the Sunday school teacher and dentist who had an affair and murdered their partners. Was good.

No word on the cast yet. We presume Kasselman will be played by a South African and Smith by a British actor. James Purefoy maybe - he plays sneery, posh-evil well.

Captain Kassie Kasselman's described as a "crack detective despite appearances," - suggests the role needs someone who's a bit of a mess.

MNet original series always deliver, its always something to look forward to. I'm currently rewatching season 1 of Lioness so that I can finally start with season 2.
