Mzansi Magic issues sudden, rando statement saying that Sibongile & The Dlaminis is on a "production break" when filming on Season 2 finished months ago already. DStv canned producer Duma Ndlovu's Umkhokha and My Brother's Keeper last year when his tax scandal hit and it's looking like Sibongile could be next, as we suspected. Maybe they're trying to find an alternative production house to make it but that would mean ripping it away from Rhythm World Productions. Season 2 remains on air.

Why are the media calling the California fires "wildfires" when no-one knows what caused them?! Wildfires spread through wild terrain like vegetation and trees and usually start by themselves, but these are spreading through neighbourhoods too and the cause hasn't been confirmed. Could be a person, electrical fault or fireworks that started them, in which case they aren't wildfires. Seems they're using "wild" to make headlines wilder.

BET to air film festival titled BET Script to Screen: AFDA Edition - with 50 movies by 3rd and 4th year AFDA students from the classes of 2016 to 2021. The only snag: they're airing at 07h00 in the morning - when everyone's glued to their TVs. NOT. Premieres Monday 11 December. Mondays to Fridays.

It's become a pattern. SABC and MultiChoice announce they haven't reached a deal for the broadcast of a national sport and then next thing they do. It's just happened again with the Cricket World Cup which is now on SABC, on TV, sabcsport.com and SABC+ but not on OpenView. >>

Comedy Central scrambles as Trevor Noah exits The Daily Show. No new host announced for the January season, only a raft of guest hosts in what seems to be a glorified audition for: Chelsea Handler, Al Franklin, D. L. Hughley, Leslie Jones, John Leguizamo, Hasan Minhaj, Kal Penn, Sarah Silverman, Wanda Sykes, Marlon Wayans and the show's news correspondents and contributors.
