The Apprentice II Mid-Season Awards

RECAP EPISODE:

With the latest episode of The Apprentice II being a recap episode of the show so far it seems the ideal opportunity to look back over the series and give it some deserving awards.

I thought it would be best to start with the task I reckon would be the crappest to do because seeing all the tasks together again it struck me just how many of them have been impossible or yawny.

The Crappest Task:

The most un-enjoyable and strinickity tasks out of them all were definitely the toothpaste selling one, the Levi’s and Pepsi marketing campaigns and the Central Park dogs one.

I would have enjoyed the dog park one if it involved just hanging out with the pooches to chill but finding something to do to make money out of them that doesn’t involve torturing them is really difficult.

The idea of approaching strangers and cold-selling them a service gives me major rigor too, particularly knowing they really don’t need it – which none of the people walking their dogs did.

I wouldn’t have enjoyed the Levi’s and Pepsi tasks either simply because of how boring they both were to organise. Yes jeans and Pepsi can be interesting if you’re wearing them or you’re thirsty but the idea of putting together a marketing campaign with the right selling words for them makes me zone out.

Worst of all and the winner of this award has to be the toothpaste selling though. I saw everyone doing it in the original episode, I watched them all carefully in the recap too and despite seeing it twice I can’t remember the first thing about what they had to do. It’s all a blur of no-name brand boxes of toothpaste tubes that I’d have lost interest in two moments into the task.

The Best Task:

Way more enjoyable to do would have to be the home renovation, the police force advertisement and the ice-cream creating. Coming up with a funky flavour of ice-cream and hitting the streets of New York with it would be fun, espesh testing it and seeing people enjoying it once you’ve sold it to them.

The home renovating would be excellent to do  – I love decorating and breaking down walls and stuff and also I’m very impatient. Big things happened really quickly in this task and the results were immediate and visual. The only thing that I’d be stressed by would be putting my trust in the contractors and getting freaked if they let me down when I’d tried my best.

This is why I’d find the police ad the easiest and bestly enjoyable. The action and camera’s and challenge of selling a philosophy instead of a product really appeals to me.

I would have tackled it very differently from the way what they did though, starting with insisting that I only got the coolest police chicks on the force to use in the footage. I would also have asked for extra budget to get Michelle Rodriguez in for a cameo.

The Biggest Ass-Kisser:

Arggh - without a doubt this award has to go to shiny, desperate, squirming Bradford. Jenn C’s ass-kissing is also a mega problem obviously, except in a different way -she’s at least had moments of it increasing her power whereas Brad constantly gave all his power away.

Best Dressed:

Sandy.

Most Rubbish Moment:

This has to go to the moment of Donald firing Pamela and the things he had to say about both her and why he fired her. I couldn’t believe that he didn’t admit his mistake in firing her by trying to pass responsibility onto someone else the way he did when he explained why he’d fired Stacey J.

What he had to say about nobody respecting nor listening to Pamela was not only unfair but complete rubbish - every single one of them did exactly what she told them to.

Seeing the way he made such a big deal about her $10 loss again  re-highlighted just how threatened he was by her – particularly when you consider the glowing post-mortem’s he gave losers like Wes and Andy.

Worst Hairstyle:

Speaking of Wes, it struck me that he has the most nothing hairstyle I've ever seen. At first I thought Raj’s retro, flicked bangs should win this award but when I looked closely I realised that it just has to go to Wes for his total lack of attention to it.

Chicks-wise the award goes to Maria's crop – which it wouldn’t if she weren’t her. I reckon I could like it on someone else.

The Biggest Liar:

The nominees for this category are:

- Kelly: for lying about how many dogs he washed during the Central Park task and for being sneaky about what skills he does and doesn’t have,
- Maria: for lying about how wonderful she is and for lying to cover up every one of her many mistakes
- Jenny: for lying to everyone about everything to the extent she actually believes her own lies - which are why she has to win.

Worst Idea:

This is a tricky toss-up between Andy’s toilet paper pyramid for brides, his giving the Pepsi designers the 100 buck incentive and Raj and Chris’s terror campaign for the police force.

As pathetic as Andy’s ideas were I reckon the latter two deserve the award more because of how they kept claiming to know better through all their paranoia.

Most Cringeworthy Moment:

Maria’s stealing Sandy’s limelight during the bridal task most defs.

Crappest Item Of Furniture In The Penthouse:

The lamp between Andy and Wes’s bed.

Worst Dressed:

Raj.

Best Moment:

Donald actually being fair for once by saying: “Stacey got fired because she got on everybody’s nerves, including mine. I just couldn’t take her any more.”

Most Likely To Be Institutionalized Soonest:

Maria.

Soo those are my awards for the series so far. Do you agree with their deservingness? This last one might change with whatever happens in the countdown to the win of course.
